Hello, I’m Lavinia Errico and welcome to my website, Inside/Out. I am the founder of Equinox Fitness clubs and a passionate advocate and advisor for healthier, more fulfilled, more balanced, and more joyful lives. I’m all about helping others achieve the same things, by encouraging people to explore how they can make shifts in their own awareness. We all have our blind spots, and I know in my own life I have benefited from those teachers who helped me examine mine and inspired me to find my own truth and own it. Let’s make this journey together so you can find your joy, learn how to eat well, incorporate movement and fitness into your daily life, speak your truth, and strengthen and deepen your relationships with your self and with others.
How do we discover our spiritual essence? How do we learn to trust and have faith? How do we overcome our fears and live the lives we have always wanted? How do we learn to love and accept ourselves and through that process offer love and acceptance to others?
These aren’t just questions, they are THE QUESTIONS. And they do have answers, just not easy ones. At Inside/Out, we believe with some help and guidance from our experts you can find the teacher within and learn to be your own life coach. I believe we all have the answers inside of us, but we just have to look deeper and in many cases, experience the stillness that will allow us access to this type of self-knowledge. In the process, you will also learn the importance and power of self-respect and respect for others.
We also have great tips on how to use tools like meditation, journaling, and unplugging to help you discover better ways to manage stress and find and enjoy your authentic self.
Balance – it is so elusive but so key. In my 20’s, 30’s and early 40’s I had a very successful career and the financial rewards that went with it. I had a wonderful child, family, friends, all those things that make a good life. But, and this is a big but, I had no balance in my life, and I was a mess inside. I cannot stress enough how important it is to achieve balance in your life. I truly believe it is one of the real keys to happiness and contentment. The question remains, how do you achieve It.?
Well, I am so glad you asked…
Do you know any really, really, busy people? The types who do, do, do all day long, and are always on the go? Well, I was one of those. I was constantly creating new business, having ideas, making plans, volunteering at my son’s school, doing tons of community service, basically creating more and more distractions to avoid feeling the pain inside that dated back to my childhood. In other words, I was busy avoiding my feelings.
In fact, I now know when I am crazy busy like this it is actually a symptom, a symptom that there is something I need to get out, something deep inside that I need to understand.
How did I get off this merry-go-round? Well, I had to stop and actually spend some time not doing – I mean really not doing – unplugging the computer, turning off the cell phone, and just sitting quietly with my mind and my journal. I had an amazing experience recently when I took time to unplug. Then, out of the blue I had a memory from childhood that pulled me up short. I recalled something that I hadn’t thought about consciously in years. But I suddenly realized that this memory was so key to what I was struggling with now. And, I know I could not have discovered it outside of that stillness. I needed the quiet, the peace, to dig deep and find what I needed to find.
Yes, I admit it. I’m a foodie. I love fresh, delicious, good food. So for me, it can’t be all about deprivation. It has to be about eating mindfully, organically, colorfully and joyfully.
I invite you to explore the way you feed your body. I’ve learned the hard way that there is no perfect diet, no one-size-fits-all solution. So many of us have a blind spot when it comes to food. We don’t just eat it and enjoy it, we often use it to comfort and soothe ourselves. But before you can have a positive and healthy relationship with food, you must understand how food and emotion are linked. We’ve invited some experts to our site to help you discover your emotional eating profile. And once you’ve cracked that nut, you can start feeding your body the diet it really wants and needs, whole unprocessed foods, a rich variety of fruits and vegetables, lean proteins, nuts and seeds.
I love to entertain and to channel my inner domestic goddess by cooking delicious, nutritious dinners for my family and friends. And I adore my Vitamix. I think juicing is a fantastic way to start the day. I’ve included some recipes below to help you start your day with incredible energy, good health, and fabulous nutrition. I’ve also included some of my favorite healthy and mouth-watering treats, from juicy red watermelon with fresh lime to perfectly ripe tomato with Celtic sea salt.

Have you ever stopped by a park or a playground and watched the children run and jump, wearing huge smiles and filled with joy? There is a reason for that. We all have inside of us a natural joy of movement, a special sense for getting pleasure out of moving our bodies through space. When you are moving is also when you are most alive. But sometimes our busy grownup selves forget this, and then we desperately need to find our way back to this essential, primal joy.
There are many, many paths to fitness. Whether you love to dance, walk, swim, hike, bike, run, play tennis or practice yoga, you can achieve a level of fitness that will lead to a healthier, longer life. I believe passionately that you can change both your mindset and you life through the joy of movement. I know better than anyone that fitness doesn’t require a gym or a spinning bike. But it does require motivation, goal-setting, and the ability to get beyond your past failures.
So much of what makes us truly beautiful happens on the inside – through exercise, healthy eating, a positive sense of self, and an open heart. In fact, I’d say beauty is about 80% internal. But for that other 20%, I want to share with you some incredible tips and ideas about how you can look and feel your very best at any age.
From choosing the best skin-care products to learning about supplements to keep your hair full and shiny, we have hundreds of ideas to help you look fabulous.
